The Business Acquisition Specialist is responsible for strengthening business acquisition through competitive pricing of life insurance products, supporting onboarding, and building strong relationships with brokers, agents, independent agencies, and direct clients. The role ensures timely technical support, efficient service delivery, and effective market engagement to drive business growth and retention.
Key Responsibilities
Understand client needs, analyze products, and recommend opportunities to the sales team for business acquisition.
Promote efficient and effective customer service within the Group Life team to enhance customer retention and satisfaction.
Provide technical support to Group Life Schemes distribution channels to improve business acquisition efforts.
Support the business development team in preparing and aligning tender documents.
Ensure smooth onboarding of new business through proper documentation and follow-up.
Implement the credit control policy for Group Life Schemes to support timely revenue collection.
Improve risk exposure management to enhance shareholder value within established limits.
Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support business objectives.
Provide accurate and relevant management information to support business growth initiatives.
Deliver competitive quotes across all business lines including Brokers, Agents, Direct, and Affinity channels.
Gather market intelligence, prepare competitive quotations, and follow up on prospects for closure.
Conduct member education and product training for intermediaries, prospects, and existing clients.
Organize reward programs and bonding activities to strengthen partner relationships.
Promote cross-selling across Group Life Assurance (GLA) clients to achieve organic portfolio growth.
Reduce loss ratios through prudent pricing at inception and renewal stages.
Maintain databases that support evaluation of market trends and business performance.
Prepare and review monthly reports required by internal teams, finance, and actuarial departments.
Analyze and update contracts related to group risk schemes, including reviewing treaties, recommending amendments or endorsements, and assessing treaty impact on business.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or a business-related field.
Professional Insurance qualifications such as LOMA, ACII, or AIIK.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
Key Competencies
Strong understanding of life insurance operations, concepts, and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with business acquisition processes as well as underwriting and claims procedures.
Excellent customer service, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Solutions-oriented mindset with strong business acumen.
Knowledgeable in financial solutions and current market trends.
