Mitchell Cotts Group is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Procurement Officer. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the sourcing, procurement and management of goods and services, ensuring procurement activities are cost effective, timely and compliant while supporting organizational objectives through supplier management, procurement planning, cost optimization and risk mitigation.

Position Details

Position: Procurement Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the development and implementation of annual procurement plans and budgets.
Identify procurement needs in consultation with user departments.
Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations in accordance with company policies.
Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and procurement documentation.
Ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
Identify, evaluate and maintain a database of approved suppliers.
Conduct supplier assessments based on quality, pricing, reliability and service delivery.
Assist in negotiating pricing, delivery schedules and contract terms.
Prepare Requests for Quotations, Requests for Proposals and tender documents.
Coordinate tender evaluation and supplier selection processes.
Monitor contract implementation and supplier compliance.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
Support stock audits and inventory reconciliation exercises.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
Conduct market research and price benchmarking to support procurement decisions.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
Maintain procurement records and prepare procurement reports, spend analyses and performance updates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, CPP or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Two (2) to five (5) years of procurement or purchasing experience.
Experience using procurement software and ERP systems.
Demonstrated experience in supplier sourcing, contract administration and procurement operations.
Experience in logistics, freight, shipping or a related industry will be an added advantage.
