Safari Park Hotel is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Stewarding Supervisor. Reporting to the Executive Chef through the Chief Steward, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising stewarding staff, maintaining cleaning and hygiene standards, controlling inventory and supporting kitchen and banqueting operations.

Position Details

Position: Stewarding Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and train all stewarding staff and ensure that mise en place and equipment are prepared for banqueting functions.
Monitor cleaning and maintenance needs in banqueting and kitchen areas.
Assist the kitchen department with pre-setting of equipment needed for banqueting and outside catering events.
Check cleaning standards of all glassware, china, crockery and kitchen equipment.
Control breakage and chemical costs.
Assist the Chief Steward with the daily operations of the stewarding department, including washing equipment for the kitchen and banqueting sections.
Monitor hygiene and sanitation standards in line with public health standards.
Carry out regular inventory checks and control the movement of equipment within the hotel and during outside catering functions.

Qualifications and Skills

Aged 30 to 45 years.
Relevant training in basic management or supervisory skills.
At least five (5) years' experience in a similar position, preferably from a five-star establishment.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and previous experience working with hygiene cleaning detergents is a must.
Strong organisational and inventory control skills.
Ability to work in an environment that demands exceptional performance.
Knowledge of HACCP and detergents is a must.
