Java House is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Waitstaff. The successful candidates will welcome, seat, take and serve food and beverage orders to guests in a friendly and timely manner while ensuring a clean environment in accordance with Java service standards.

Position Details

Position: Waitstaff.

Locations: Nairobi, Eldoret Java Branch, Kisumu, Nyali Branch, Kericho Java Branch, Meru, Nanyuki, Nakuru, Diani Java, and Voi.

Duties and Responsibilities

Present menu options and take the lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
Handle customer interactions at various customer touch points.
Assist guests with menu navigation and inform them of menu changes and daily specials.
Take orders and deliver them to the table neatly and accurately according to ticket specifications.
Present menus and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
Monitor guests’ dining experience and respond promptly and courteously to concerns.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
Ensure there is enough change at all times.
Maintain shift float money and ensure there are no shortages.
Ensure timely closure of counter variances.
Take care of counter machines.
Present bills on time and accept payments.
Order items in Vuka for the store.
Receive items from Food scape and other suppliers.
Key orders into the POS.
Receive orders from aggregator tabs.
Pack and dispatch orders to guests.
Clear tables and clean counters after guests have finished dining.
Ensure general cleaning of the restaurant and uphold the highest hygiene standards.
Communicate any R and M or IT issues to the Area Manager.
Perform closing duties of the branch.

Present bills and give guests the correct change within the shortest time possible.
Assist guests with easy menu navigation.
Attend to tables and ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
Check the quality of final servings and resolve issues according to recommended food and beverage standards.
Ensure proper utilization of company resources.
Ensure accurate stock take.
Attend shift briefings and communicate carefully with guests.
Ensure necessary orders for proper mise en place are given to the manager for ordering.
Adhere to SOPs.

Special Conditions of Employment
