Halisi Family Hospital is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position of Pharmaceutical Technologist (Locum) in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Kenya. Summary of the Role

The Pharmaceutical Technologist will provide professional pharmaceutical services and ensure efficient, safe and accurate dispensing of medication. Key duties and responsibilities include:

Receive prescriptions from clinicians and dispense drugs to patients in a timely, safe and accurate manner.
Ensure an outstanding client experience and provide excellent customer service.
Ensure efficient pharmacy service flow by managing turnaround time.
Proactively address and follow up on client concerns and provide timely feedback.
Ensure accurate entry of data into the system and the registers provided.
Implement quality assurance programmes within the department.
Ensure the pharmacy is adequately stocked with required pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products while avoiding overstocking through effective stock management.
Lead, organize and plan pharmacy operations to ensure efficient service delivery at all times.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, order and cleanliness in the pharmacy.
Organize and participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as required.
Ensure smooth flow of information between the department and management.
Prepare and submit expected regular reports to facility and departmental supervisors on time.
Assist in the formulation, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
Participate in clinical audits.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a busy pharmacy, including experience in inventory management.
Registration with the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
Valid practicing licence.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Private hospital experience is an added advantage.
