Halisi Family Hospital is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position of Medical Officer (Re-Advertisement) in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Kenya. Summary of the Role

The Medical Officer will provide evidence based clinical care and promote quality, patient safety and excellent customer experience. Key duties and responsibilities include:

Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnose and treat patients in accordance with evidence based medical practices and the hospital's clinical guidelines and protocols.
Collaborate with medical and nursing teams to develop treatment plans and ensure timely specialist consultations and referrals.
Discuss planned medical care with patients and their registered next of kin and provide daily updates on patient progress.
Provide preventive and promotive wellness services through patient and family education and counselling.
Manage inpatient care through timely ward rounds and patient reviews in collaboration with the medical team and specialists.
Perform medical and surgical procedures according to training and skills.
Document patient care accurately, maintain complete medical records and protect the confidentiality of patient information.
Promote excellent customer experience through effective communication, appropriate handling of feedback and complaints, and escalation of unresolved concerns.
Participate in continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, including incident reporting and root cause analysis.
Participate in continuing medical education, infection prevention and control activities, work improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
Participate in health talks, outreach, wellness and other business development activities when required.
Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor in line with the job description.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
At least two (2) years of active post internship clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings at a busy hospital, including at least one (1) year of inpatient practice.
Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Valid practicing licence.
Valid Professional Indemnity insurance cover.
Current certification in BLS, ACLS and ATLS from a recognized institution.
Private hospital experience is an added advantage.
