Reale Hospital is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Medical Officer. The successful candidate will provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during hours of duty and work in conjunction with the other RMO / Clinical team to provide a 24 hour service to the hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during hours of duty and work in conjunction with the other RMO / Clinical team to provide a 24 hour service to the hospital.
Conduct evaluation to determine the nature of patient's illness or injury and develop a treatment plan to address the patient's needs.
Bring to surface the unexpressed and unperceived patient needs.
Perform diagnostic tests such as blood tests, urinalysis, CBC among other tests and imaging tests as per the patient insurance cover or needs.
Discern contextual hindrances to patients well being.
Monitor receptiveness, adherence, and responses to stipulated treatment.
Handle emergency cases and offer emergency treatment within the scope area with skills limitation not being a hindrance. Principles and practice coming into play.
Counsel patients on treatment and compliance to treatment and the needfulness to inpatient management or day case management.
Recommend medication or other therapy treatment to patients using knowledge of pharmacology and medicinal chemistry and being up to date with current treatment management regimes.
Ensure conformation to clinical professional standards and regulations.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an accredited University.
Registered and a valid active practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
At least one (1) year of working experience, excluding internship, from a reputable institution.
Must have professional indemnity insurance cover.
Sound diagnostic skills and judgement.
Good communication skills.
