Community Oral Health Officer (COHO)

The company is seeking experienced and motivated Community Oral Health Officers (COHOs) to support the growth of its dental services and improve access to oral healthcare.


    Position Details

    Position: Community Oral Health Officer (COHO).
    Employment Type: Full-time.
    Department: Dental.
    Experience Level: Experienced.
    Locations: Kitengela and Umoja 1 - Nairobi, Kenya.
    Available Positions: 2 full-time positions.


    Key Responsibilities

    Examine patients, diagnose common oral conditions, and deliver preventive and curative care.
    Educate patients on oral hygiene and promote effective oral health practices.
    Collaborate with dentists and the broader care team to ensure oral health is included in the overall patient care plan.
    Maintain accurate and confidential patient records while upholding clinical standards.
    Manage dental supplies and equipment to support effective service delivery.
    Participate in community outreach initiatives and help improve access to dental care.
    Stay current on advances in dental practice and contribute to continuous quality improvement.


    Qualifications

    A Diploma in Community Oral Health or a BSc in Oral Health from a recognised institution.
    Registration and a valid practising licence with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
    At least 2 years of post-internship experience in a clinical dental setting.
    Clear communication skills and the ability to put patients at ease.
    Strong organisational and time management skills.
    Commitment to continuous learning and patient safety.
    Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute beyond clinical duties.
