Haco Industries (Kenya) Limited is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Procurement Officer. The successful candidate will support the Procurement and Supply Chain function by ensuring materials, packaging and services are sourced on time and at the right cost, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders accurately and within agreed turnaround times, proactively following up to prevent approval stage delays.
Monitor supplier delivery lead times and escalate early to prevent production delays and stock outs.
Coordinate with suppliers and service providers on order confirmations, delivery schedules and account matters, maintaining accurate supplier records.
Prepare and track import and clearance documentation, coordinating with clearing agents to avoid delays and demurrage.
Ensure accuracy of supplier invoices, Goods Receipt Notes and supporting documentation to enable seamless payment processing.
Coordinate with Finance to maintain accurate records of financial commitments and accruals.
Support new product development and supply continuity work by helping secure raw material availability.
Contribute clean, timely data to monthly procurement reporting, including spend, stock and supplier performance.
Maintain audit ready documentation across all procurement activity, following Haco's procurement policy and ethical sourcing standards.

Qualifications and Key Competencies

Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
Solid understanding of category management, contract administration and supplier performance management.
Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Sage X3 and MS Excel, including pivot tables and spend dashboards.
Membership of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or CIPS qualification at Level 4 and above, or any recognised additional procurement and supply chain certification, will be an added advantage.
Strong numerical skills for negotiation, cost breakdown and benchmarking.
Solid understanding of procurement policies, ethics and audit readiness.
Awareness of supplier ESG standards and Haco's sustainability agenda, with the ability to evaluate and integrate supplier ESG performance.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment and support the organization's transformation journey.
Demonstrates clear potential to develop into a supply chain leader.
Strong attention to detail and follow through, proactively chasing open items rather than waiting to be asked.
Comfortable escalating issues early and operating within a clear governance and compliance framework.
Resilient and adaptable in a fast paced, high volume environment.
