Moving The Goalposts is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Finance Manager in Kilifi. The successful candidate will ensure best practice in financial management of MTG, minimise risk, maximise effectiveness, sustainability and growth, and oversee the organisation's financial function.

Establish and monitor specific and measurable financial strategic goals on a coordinated, integrated basis, enabling MTG to operate efficiently and effectively towards sustainability.
Prepare and review all mandatory financial reports.
Develop strategies, policies and tools to effectively coordinate organisational accounting, budgeting and expenditure.
Review supporting documents for expenditure for accuracy and correct allocation according to accounting systems.
Ensure and oversee payment procedures are completed in a timely manner according to the accounts operating manual.
Liaise with bank personnel and officers, track cash balances of each bank account, ensure deposits of returned funds and track wire transfers to and from programme accounts.
Prepare cash flow projections and budgets in accordance with procedures and manage the cash flow of MTG to ensure sufficient funds are always available.
Submit requests for instalments of funds from funding agencies in a timely manner where required.
Verify the accuracy of budgets for all project proposals.
Review variances between actual and budget amounts on a monthly basis and ensure reasons given are adequate.
Be responsible for closing the monthly General Ledger.
Ensure organisational and donor audits are conducted in a timely manner.
Train staff members in financial procedures and systems in liaison with the HR Manager.
Maintain the Fixed Asset register.
Review and approve monthly reconciliations of cash and bank accounts.
Ensure timely forex and maintenance of proper liquidity levels for the organisation's main accounts.
Ensure accurate disbursement schedules are maintained for transfer of cash through bank online and Mpesa platforms.
Oversee maintenance, timely and sequential filing of payment records.
Oversee preparation of all financial reports for donors.
Ensure and manage cost recovery.
Review grant agreements before signature to assess risk and compliance with MTG's policies.
Ensure financial requirements under grant agreements are adhered to.
Ensure internal control compliance and reporting through INPAS.
Ensure adequate preparation and participation in internal and external audits.
Monitor the financial risk matrix and advise management accordingly.
Ensure external audits are performed and completed on time within the set deadlines by law and that audit recommendations are implemented.
Ensure all necessary insurance policies are in place to safeguard assets and staff.
Ensure proper implementation of the investment policy.
Oversee all office purchases and the procurement system.
Set up and oversee the office supplies and requisition system for internal supply issuance and external purchases through purchase orders in line with the purchasing and supplies policy of MTG.
Carry out inventory spot checks in the organisation, document and resolve stock variances on time.
Be lead convener of the Procurement Committee deliberations.
Ensure transactions processed and all financial reports and records maintained fully comply with Kenyan laws and regulations.
In liaison with the HR and Administration Manager, ensure payment of salaries of all staff.
Ensure timely payment of statutory deductions.
Serve as Secretary to the Finance Committee of the Board.
Prepare Finance Board papers for submission by the Executive Director.
Degree in Financial Management, Commerce or Business Administration with Finance option.
CPA (K) and/or ACCA.
At least 5 years' work experience at a middle to senior level in finance and administration in an NGO setting.
Strong accounting background with ability to prepare financial reports, statements and projections and excellent knowledge and experience of accounting software.
Excellent verbal, analytical, organisational and writing skills.
Adaptable with a strong commitment to the promotion of girls' and women's rights and the use of football for development.
Experience in ESG Reporting.
