The State Department for Correctional Services is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Housekeeping Assistant. This is the entry grade for the housekeeping assistant cadre, where successful candidates will undergo on the job training and perform duties under the supervision of a senior officer.

Salary Range: Ksh. 21,120 to Ksh. 26,250 per month.
Annual Leave Allowance: Ksh. 6,500 per annum.
Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 3,000 per month.
Leave Entitlement: 30 days per annum.
House Allowance: Ksh. 2,960 to Ksh. 4.500 per month, depending on the region of deployment.
Medical Cover: As provided by the government.

Key Responsibilities

Dust and clean rooms and corridors.
Spread beds.
Wash cleaning materials and equipment.
Replenish cleaning materials and supplies.
Wash linen and guest laundry.
Iron guest laundry and linen.
Ensure proper storage of all equipment used.

Qualifications

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Formal training lasting not less than two months in Housekeeping and or Laundry, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
