Kabarak University is inviting applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates for the position of Library Assistant (LA). The successful candidate will support the organization, accessioning, and management of library materials and supplies while participating in library operations as required.

Key Responsibilities

Organize book selection tools and prepare book order lists, cross-checking against the library database.
Accession new library materials, including stamping documents and assigning accession numbers.
Prepare requisitions for new materials and manage and distribute library supplies.
Participate in night, Saturday, and Sunday shifts as required.
Perform any other duty assigned by the University Librarian.

Qualifications and Skills

A Diploma in Library and Information Studies.
At least one (1) year of working experience in a library.
Computer literate.
Good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of archives, records appraisal, preservation, and retention procedures.
