Job Description

The Junior School Teacher will provide specialised subject teaching and career guidance to adolescent learners at Junior School level. The role involves building academic and career pathways that prepare learners for Senior School, in accordance with the CBC Junior School curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Arts or Science, with two teaching subjects.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), with the relevant Junior School deployment qualification.
Mandatory Junior School teacher retooling certificate from CEMASTEA, KICD or TSC.
At least two (2) years of teaching experience at Junior School or Lower Secondary level.
ICT proficiency and ability to integrate smart boards, projectors and online learning platforms into teaching.

Key Skills and Competencies

Strong subject knowledge and mastery of the relevant teaching areas.
Understanding of adolescent psychology and the developmental needs of teenagers.
Practical and technical teaching skills.
Ability to provide effective career guidance and support learners' transition to Senior School.
Strong leadership, innovation and creativity.
Digital pedagogy and effective integration of technology in teaching.
Effective classroom and discipline management skills, particularly when working with teenagers.
