Rongo University is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Technician II. The successful candidate will provide technical support for laboratory and workshop activities, maintain equipment, assist faculty and researchers, and ensure efficient laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support and assistance to faculty, researchers and students in laboratory settings.
Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
Manage laboratory inventory and supplies, including ordering, receiving and organizing materials required for laboratory activities.
Assist in the development of laboratory manuals, instructional materials and safety procedures for academic courses and research projects.
Troubleshoot technical issues and perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Ensure proper arrangement and organization of workshops and laboratories.
Assist in carrying out laboratory, workshop and field activities.
Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

Higher National Diploma in a relevant discipline or its equivalent from a recognized institution with at least three years relevant post qualification laboratory work experience.
Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Computer literacy.
