The Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Infrastructure Engineer. The successful candidate will support the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the organization's ICT infrastructure to ensure the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of power systems, data centers, networks, servers, cloud services, and related systems.

Position Details

Position: Infrastructure Engineer.
Job Grade: KTNA 7.
Number of Posts: 1.
Employer: Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade).
Reports to: Assistant Manager IT, Infrastructure and Service Management.
Duty Station: Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain complex switching environments, wireless networks, firewalls, VPN concentrators, and security appliances supporting mission critical applications.
Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPNs and firewalls.
Manage local area networks including switches, structured cabling, power provisioning, wired and wireless networks, performance, security, throughput, and upgrades.
Implement multi user environments including IP addressing schemes, DNS, WINS, and EtherChannel.
Provide technical support to internal staff, vendors, and partner agencies.
Develop, test, evaluate, and implement infrastructure upgrades.
Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
Ensure infrastructure changes are implemented with minimal disruption to ICT services.
Monitor and safeguard ICT infrastructure assets and organizational data.
Ensure ICT infrastructure is managed in accordance with KenTrade standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in ICT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Knowledge of IT infrastructure design, implementation, and support.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
