Jambojet is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of First Officer. The successful candidate will assist the Pilot in Command in conducting safe and efficient flight operations in compliance with Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations and Jambojet operational standards while ensuring the safety of crew members, passengers, and cargo throughout every flight.

Position Details

Position: First Officer.
Employer: Jambojet.
Department: Flight Operations.
Reports To: Pilot in Command during flight and administratively to the Chief Pilot.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and security of crew members, passengers, and cargo by complying with all aviation safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Assist in planning, executing, and supervising company flights in accordance with aviation regulations and company policies.
Follow and enforce operational procedures and flight checklists contained in the Company Operations Manual.
Monitor the serviceability of aircraft and equipment, including overseeing maintenance activities when operating away from base.
Review weather forecasts and operational requirements to ensure safe flight conditions before and during flights.
Respond effectively to emergency situations and support critical decision making to maintain flight safety.
Ensure safe aircraft navigation through continuous monitoring of geographical position and terrain clearance.
Support the Captain in leading the operating crew while maintaining discipline, teamwork, and operational performance.
Oversee passenger safety briefings and ensure all emergency equipment is available and serviceable.
Maintain accurate flight documentation, aircraft records, journey logbooks, and operational reports while continuously improving professional knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

Minimum educational qualification of mean grade C or equivalent. Higher qualifications are an added advantage.
Valid Kenyan Commercial Pilot License with Multi Engine Instrument Rating.
Gas Turbine aircraft rating is required.
ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
Minimum of 500 flight hours.
Accident free and incident free flying record is preferred.
Strong knowledge of flight operations, aircraft systems, aviation regulations, and emergency procedures.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision making skills with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic operating environment.
