Gulf African Bank is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Treasury Dealer (Foreign Exchange) within the Treasury Department. The successful candidate will execute the Bank’s foreign exchange business strategy by entering into foreign exchange dealings with designated clients and collaborating with business teams to grow foreign exchange income.

Position Details

Position: Treasury Dealer (Foreign Exchange).
Department: Treasury.
Reports to: Head of Treasury.
Location: Head Office - Nairobi, Kenya.
Direct Reports: None.
Customers of the Position: Designated external clients, Business Team and Branch Staff.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate calls with designated clients to understand their foreign exchange requirements, transaction patterns and plans.
Execute foreign exchange deals with designated clients as mandated by the Bank.
Ensure prompt generation and release of deal tickets to the respective stakeholders.
Track foreign exchange transaction volumes and income to evaluate and monitor business performance.
Coordinate visits to designated clients and circulate call visit reports for action by relevant stakeholders.
Monitor and assess real-time deal-specific and cumulative foreign exchange exposure to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
Prepare and circulate foreign exchange rates for use by Bank branch staff while ensuring compliance with the Bank’s mark-up policy.
Ensure all known transactions are posted onto the blotter for ease of reconciliation with iMAL.
Ensure strict adherence to the Kenya Foreign Exchange Code and all other relevant internal policy guidelines.

Education and Experience

Graduate in a business-related field.
ACI Financial Markets Association Certificate.
Experience in foreign exchange dealership.
Knowledge of the Kenya Foreign Exchange Code.

Job-Specific Competencies

Treasury sales skills.
Verbal and written communication skills.
