The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is seeking to recruit competent, capable and self-motivated individuals to serve as Constituency Monitors (290 Posts) on short-term contract terms. The successful candidates will monitor pre-election, election and post-election activities of political parties, including compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties.

Terms of Service: (10) Ten months short-term contract, January 2027 to October 2027.
Reporting to: County Monitor.
Duty Station: Field Offices, Across Counties and Constituencies.
Remuneration: Consolidated monthly gross salary of KSh. 65,000.

Job Purpose

To monitor and report on political parties’ activities at the constituency level to ensure adherence to the Constitution, the Political Parties Act and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties, and to support peaceful, lawful and transparent electoral processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitoring compliance by political parties with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties at the constituency level.
Liaising with relevant government agencies on the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Political Parties.
Reporting findings arising during campaigns and elections, including election petitions, to the County Monitor.
Sensitizing political parties and candidates on the Code of Conduct for Political Parties and other relevant laws.
Preparing reports on the pre-election, election and post-election activities of political parties.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Laws, Public Administration, Education, Political Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Computer Applications.
Kenyan citizen.
Analytical skills.
Competent in report writing.
Willing to work anywhere within Kenya.
Must be a resident of the Constituency they wish to work in.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Required Clearances

Successful candidates shall be required to provide clearance from the following institutions:

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Authentication and recognition of foreign degrees by the Commission for University Education where applicable.
