The State Department for Correctional Services is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Cook III. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation and production under the supervision of a senior officer while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety within correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare raw food items for cooking.
Ensure cleanliness of equipment used in food production.
Maintain hygiene by cleaning the kitchen and surrounding areas.
Set up and prepare equipment for food preparation and production.
Report any defective equipment to the supervisor promptly.

Qualifications

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum mean grade of D plain or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Craft Certificate in Food and Beverage Production, Sales and Service, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Alternatively, completion of a formal Food Production course lasting at least two months organized by the Kenya Utalii College or another recognized institution.
No previous work experience is required.
