Database Administrator - MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL

    Sybyl Limited is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Database Administrator - MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, performance, security and production support of MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL databases.


    Position Details

    Position: Database Administrator – MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL.
    Number of Vacancies: 1.
    Functional Area: Software.
    Industry: IT Software.
    Location: Nairobi.
    Salary: Negotiable.


    Responsibilities

    Installation, configuration and administration of MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL databases.
    Database backup and recovery.
    Performance monitoring and tuning.
    High availability and replication.
    Database patching and upgrades.
    User, role and security management.
    Troubleshooting database-related issues.
    Supporting production environments.


    Required Qualifications and Experience

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields.
    Minimum three (3) to four (4) years of hands-on experience in MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL database administration.


    Additional Information

    Immediate joiners are preferred.
