The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is seeking to recruit competent, capable and self-motivated individuals to serve as Call Centre Monitors (20 Posts) on short-term contract terms. The successful candidates will monitor pre-election, election and post-election activities of political parties, including compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties.

Terms of Service: Ten months short-term contract, January 2027 to October 2027.
Reporting to: Senior Officer in the Compliance Department.
Duty Station: ORPP Headquarters.
Remuneration: Consolidated monthly gross salary of KSh. 60,000.

Job Purpose

To provide accurate, timely and professional information to the public and stakeholders on political parties and electoral processes, while supporting the documentation, processing and management of electoral-related enquiries and independent candidate applications through the call centre system.

Duties and Responsibilities

Receive incoming calls and respond to enquiries from members of the public relating to political parties, rallies and elections.
Liaise with relevant ORPP departments and staff to obtain accurate and relevant information required by callers.
Identify and escalate calls and enquiries from political parties and the public that require immediate attention.
Identify common issues and frequently asked questions to inform areas where ORPP may need to strengthen its policies, procedures, public education mechanisms and or legal framework.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all calls and conversations in the Call Centre database.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Communication, Laws, Public Administration, Education, Political Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Computer Applications.
Kenyan citizen.
Analytical skills.
Competent in report writing.
Willing to work anywhere within Kenya.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

High level of attention to detail.
Ability to interact professionally with electors and members of the public with diverse personalities and maintain a positive demeanor, including when dealing with difficult or agitated callers.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Required Clearances

Successful candidates shall be required to provide clearance from the following institutions:

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Authentication and recognition of foreign degrees by the Commission for University Education where applicable.
