The Program Intern will support program staff in training learners on essential computer skills, including keyboarding, internet research, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools. The intern will also participate in coding activities and support the effective daily operation of inABLE’s digital hubs.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily operations of the digital hub, ensuring a smooth learning environment.
Support program staff in training youth, students, and teachers on computer skills, internet use, and coding.
Help maintain computer hardware and the local network within the hub.
Contribute to creating social media content and blog stories.
Mentor and counsel learners to build confidence, self-esteem, and digital literacy.
Support lab cleanliness and general upkeep.
Assist learners with ICT-related assignments and projects.
Provide students with digital learning resources and assist in assessments.
Participate in programming and coding activities (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Qualifications
At least a Diploma in an IT-related field or Project Management.
Must be a person living with a disability (Thika, Meru, Siaya, Likoni, and Kambui stations).
Knowledge of assistive technology is an added advantage.
Experience and Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
Mentorship and presentation skills.
