The Multimedia Intern will support the Multimedia team at Show Up Communications Limited in creating compelling visual content that amplifies the stories, campaigns, and identities of clients and partners. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in graphic design, branding, digital content creation, and multimedia production within a fast-paced Pan-African communications agency.

Key Responsibilities

Design graphics for social media platforms, newsletters, websites, and other digital channels.
Create branding assets including logos, business cards, letterheads, merchandise mockups, and event collateral.
Develop infographics, carousel posts, quote cards, factsheets, and presentation slides.
Design materials for internal and partner events, including name badges, banners, certificates, and tent cards.
Prepare visual assets for web articles, blog headers, and client reports.
Ensure all design deliverables align with established brand guidelines and visual identity standards.
Participate in creative planning sessions and contribute ideas during design reviews and feedback meetings.
Organize and maintain properly labeled folders for source files and final design assets.
Attend bi-weekly review sessions and track assigned tasks, deliverables, and learning progress.
Support the development of creative visual content for client and organizational communication initiatives.

Qualifications

Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Visual Communication, or a related field.
Applicants must be recent graduates or awaiting graduation and not more than one year post-completion of their studies.
Demonstrated interest in graphic design, multimedia production, branding, or visual communication.
Portfolio of academic, personal, or professional design projects is an added advantage.

Desired Skills

Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Experience using Canva and Figma for digital design projects.
Familiarity with project management and file organization tools including Trello, Google Workspace, Dropbox, or Notion.
Strong visual design skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work within brand guidelines and maintain visual consistency across projects.
Understanding of content formats and requirements for social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Facebook.
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work.
Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to constructive feedback.

Internship Details

Position: Multimedia Intern.
Location: On-site, Nairobi.
Working Hours: 0800 to 1700 Hrs.
Duration: 6 Months.
Reporting To: Project Manager.
Remuneration: Paid.
